Craig practices in the firm’s Tax Group.  His practice focuses on the areas of tax dispute resolution and tax planning for individuals and corporations.  Craig works with clients to develop and implement tax effective plans.  These plans often involve tax-deferred corporate reorganizations, estate planning, trusts and family business structures.  Craig has developed an expertise in tax efficient buying and selling of businesses and helps clients maximize their after tax assets.

Additionally, Craig works with clients in resolving all manner of disputes with the Canada Revenue Agency (“CRA”) efficiently.  He has managed CRA audits, appeals and has assisted clients in reporting previously unreported income to the CRA through the voluntary disclosure program. Craig has appeared in the Tax Court of Canada and the British Columbia Supreme Court.

Prior to becoming a lawyer, Craig was a professional musician in Canada and the United States.  He has performed with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony, the Windsor Symphony Orchestra and Tafelmusik.  Craig’s musical background is reflected in his technical astuteness and creativity in meeting his client’s needs.

Craig has completed Parts I, II and III of the Chartered Professional Accountants In-Depth Tax Course.
